Tips on Article Writing – to Get you Started
Many thousands of marketers take advantage of article marketing as a means to drive traffic. But merely being aware of that is only part of the equation. You’ll need to know exactly how to write these powerful articles. But it’s really interesting because very many IM marketers, for whatever reason, don’t want to take the time to learn this, so they pay other people to write them. That’s all well and good, but can you afford to outsource?
Quality articles can be pricey. But you can learn how to do this with just a little bit of coaching. And that’s why you’re here – we’ll show you how to get started, today.
Be sure to never view your marketing articles like essays you wrote in school. If you’ll remember from school, the structure of an essay is: “tell them what you are going to say, say it and then tell them what you said.” A “reverse pyramid” arrangement, or structure, is found in articles. In an essay the least important information is put in the middle of the work. In an article, the least important content is just before the concluding paragraph. This way the important content is read earlier in the article.
Always make your introduction completely clear. The introduction does not have to be long. The intro section is important, but it only exposes the article topic and briefly states what is about to be learned. Some people take a while to do this. You’ll see some articles in which the writer used very succinct sentences in the intro. Your goal with the introduction is to also compel the reader to naturally lead into the next paragraph. It’s just that writers are different, of course, and some will prefer to express in shorter sentences. Others prefer to tell a story. With practice, you’ll discover your own preference. An important other step is to ensure that you are an SEO article writer, that is targeting words and phrases that will actually bring you traffic.
Always write more than a single article draft. It’s just a smart idea to check for mistakes like spelling, grammar, sentence and paragraph structure, etc. It’s a really good idea to avoid publishing that first draft. You want to go through your article at least twice before you submit it for publication. One great editing approach is to get someone else to read it and offer their suggestions, or just give their impressions. You’ll help your business if you take the time to learn how to write a good article. But having this skill will even be helpful if you have no interest at all in making money. You’ll find it will improve your communications in any other area. Of course, this won’t happen overnight, but you’ll find it’s worth it to do it. Thankfully it is not hard to learn, but it does take patience and dedication.
