Another thing that you can do to get more people linking to you is to have an article marketing strategy. Article marketing is simply the process of writing for another site or an article directory and then link back to your site.
A great guide for article marketing online is to write a few articles a week and submit them to a variety of sites around the web. After a few months of doing this you should began to see some pretty good results and some increased traffic. But of course use it in conjunction with other forums of marketing, this way you get the most out of your efforts and your backlinks are more diversified.
